Jay Byrd graduated Medford Sr. High School, and attended college at Oregon College of Education (WOU), Arizona State University, and Southern Oregon College.

He began his career as a part-time DJ while in high school under the mentoring of Oregon Duck announcer Jerry Allen.

Reese broadcast High School Football for 21 seasons making stops at Medford, Phoenix, Crater, Grants Pass, and Mt. View where he called the 2011 State Championship for the Cougars.

Reese currently serves as the lead ‘substitute’ announcer for the Beaver Sports Network from Learfield Sports where he handles the opening of every Oregon State Baseball season, and covers for a few men’s and women’s basketball games broadcasts.
The Byrd has also worked as a Television Sports Director/Anchor in his career.
And, Reese broadcast 4-years of Minor League baseball.

His favorite pro sports teams are the Oakland A’s, Portland Trailblazers, BC Lions,  San Jose Sharks, and Portland Winterhawks. And, he’s a big NASCAR fan and has covered dirt track racing on the west coast.
His favorite college sports teams are the Beavers, Ducks, ASU, Boise State, and Gonzaga.
